A FROWN IN THE SKY

by all indications
and through its shape
the rainbow should be
a frown in the sky
yet the lift of one's spirit
in beholding it
reverses the arc to a smile.
i guess the initial shape
never dictates
the final outcome
or that the form
does not necessarily
become the purpose.
i'll have to remember this
the next time i see
something i don't like.
it is said that rainbows
have sometimes a habit
of coming your way
in disguise...
